Set amongst the stunning Queensland Glasshouse Mountains and the Tasmanian Central Highlands, Sunray is an award-winning berry producer. Our focus is growing strawberries and blueberries, while offering labour hire solutions to the farming community through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme.
Founded by a second-generation Queensland farmer, we believe in quality. Our strawberries can be found in major supermarket retailers in Berry Yummy and Perfection branded punnets. Our Blueberries are still young and they will soon be coming to a supermarket near you.
We are committed to sustainable farming practices, through utilising the latest techniques and selective choice of berry varieties. We are constantly striving to improve our methods. The entire team at Sunray is passionate about delivering consumer satisfaction through delivering the “berry” best berries, grown with love.
The Man Behind the Berries
Ray’s family once owned the third largest strawberry farm in Queensland. He has been growing strawberries most of his life and now grows over 20 times more than his parents did. Ray took a seven year break from strawberries, training to become a qualified Fitter and Turner, so now he can make anything on the farm. Ray believes in innovation and has travelled the world to learn about changing growing conditions, new growing techniques and genetics. Ray supports the community through supplying strawberries for the Ekka Strawberry Sundae, holds various industry memberships, and provides mentoring and support for fellow farmers.
